Description

Black ETHILON™ Suture, Size 3-0, 18", X-1 needle, is a sterile, nonabsorbable surgical suture composed of long-chain aliphatic polyamides (nylon). This monofilament structure provides high tensile strength and smooth tissue passage, minimizing tissue trauma during placement. The suture is pliabilized to improve handling characteristics and knot security in a variety of surgical environments.

This suture is intended for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including skin closure, plastic surgery, ophthalmic, and microsurgical procedures. The 3-0 size is appropriate for moderate to fine tissue work, providing a balance between strength and minimal tissue disruption. Its nonabsorbable nature allows for long-term support where extended retention is required or until suture removal.

The X-1 needle is a reverse cutting needle, specifically engineered for skin and other dense tissues. The 3/8 circle curvature allows controlled and efficient tissue penetration, reducing the risk of tearing or trauma. The monofilament suture resists bacterial wicking, further supporting safe wound healing.
